In 2019 the Extinction Rebellion group or “XR” organised a walk through the city of Bath followed by a “group die” at the Abbey courtyard. The motive was to disrupt traffic and bring the grim message of global warming to the people of the city. People in white paper Hazmat suits regularly blocked roads along the route as hundreds of campaigners marched toward the city in a rather pedestrian way.
